NEW HAVEN, CT – The Franklin & Marshall College men’s squash team made school history this weekend as the Diplomats went 4-0 at the Yale University Round Robin Tournament.

Ranked #15 in the Squashtalk.com national poll, Franklin & Marshall handled #12 Bates College (6-3 W), #14 Bowdoin (6-3 W), #18 St. Lawrence University (9-0 W) and #24 Connecticut College (9-0 W) at Yale as the Diplomats upped their record to 8-5 on the season.

The record marks the first time F&M has ever finished 4-0 at a tournament in school history and betters the previous record of 3-0 most recently set by the 2002-03, 1995-96, 1994-95 and 1990-91 teams.

In 2002-03, F&M went 3-0 at the National Intercollegiate Squash Racquets Association (NISRA) Championships at Princeton University as the Diplomats knocked off St. Lawrence (9-0 W), Tufts University (9-0 W) and Colby College (6-3 W) to capture the Summer Division Championship.

The 1995-96 team went 3-0 at the NISRA Championships hosted by Yale University as the team handled Cornell College (8-1 W), Navy (9-0 W) and Dartmouth College (6-3 W) to win the Hoehn Division title.

In 1994-95, the Diplomats won the Hoehn Division at the NISRA Championships hosted by Princeton as Franklin & Marshall defeated Cornell (8-1 W), Dartmouth (7-2 W) and Brown University (5-4 W) in the wake of capturing the 1990-91 Hoehn title at the NISRA Championships hosted by Princeton courtesy wins over Brown (7-2 W), Trinity College (CT) (7-2 W) and Williams College (8-1 W).

Franklin & Marshall (8-5) will return to action on January 25 at Haverford College as the Diplomats will look to record their school record fifth straight road win. Historically, the Diplomats are 15-1 all-time against the Fords as Franklin & Marshall has won the last 15 meetings following a Haverford victory in 1967.
