CARLISLE, PA – Freddy Martino (So., Harleysville, PA/Lansdale Catholic) placed first in the triple jump (12.98 meters) and second in the high jump (5-8) and long jump (5.79) to lead the Franklin & Marshall College men’s track team to a third place finish at the 2006 Little Three Meet versus Gettysburg College and Dickinson College at Dickinson’s Biddle Field. Jake Gomolinski (So., Middletown, NY/Pine Bush Central) won the 100 (11.13) and 200 meters (22.59), Aldace Fleming (Sr., Ridgefield, CT/Ridgefield) placed first in the 800 meters (2:03.46) and Jon Brallier (Jr., Chambersburg, PA/Mercersburg Academy) captured the pole vault (14-0) to round out the Diplomats victors as the Diplomats finished third in the Little Three Championships for the 14th time in the 57-year history of the meet. Mike Arnold (So., Kresgeville, PA/Pleasant Valley) placed fourth in the 400 meter hurdles (1:01.56) and second in the 110 meter hurdles (15.99), Josh Laster (So., Warwick, NY/Warwick Valley) finished sixth in the 400 meter hurdles (1:07.50), Brad Kane (Fr., Ardmore, PA/Haverford School) and Evan Yeaw (So., Ridgewood, NJ/Ridgewood) finished third (52.65) and fifth (55.03) in the 400 meters and Brallier finished fourth in the 200 meters (23.25) to highlight the Diplomats’ sprint finishes. In addition, Zach Barninger (Jr., Wrightsville, PA/Eastern York) placed fourth in the triple jump (11.29 meters) and third in the pole vault (13-6) and long jump (5.59 meters) and Brian Patterson (So., Hanover, PA/New Oxford) finished fourth in the pole vault (12-6) and sixth in the 100 meters (12.57). Graham Kincade (Sr., Valhalla, NY/Valhalla) placed third in the discus (138-9), sixth in the javelin (11911) and seventh in the shot put (39-1), while Alex Falk (Jr., Philadelphia, PA/Trinity-Pawling) finished fourth in the discus (133-4), second in the shot put (43-6) and third in the javelin (155-5) to lead the Franklin & Marshall throwers. In the distance events, Chris Didizian (Jr., Penn Valley, PA/Haverford School) placed sixth in the 800 meters (2:07.21) before Harrison Miller (So., Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill) and Jeremy Alexander (Fr., Ambler, PA/Wissahickon) crossed the line third (4:25.20) and fifth (4:39.99) in the 1,500 meters. In the relays, F&M finished third in the 4X400 (3:49.54) and second in the 4X100 (44.40). Gettysburg College captured the meet title by registering 144 points, while Dickinson (138) and F&M (112) placed second and third.
