COLLEGEVILLE, PA – Franklin & Marshall College recorded 12 top ten finishes as the Diplomats placed eighth at the 2006 Centennial Conference Men’s Indoor Track Championships hosted by Ursinus College. The Diplomats had a strong showing in the sprint events as Jake Gomolinski (So., Middletown, NY/Pine Bush Central) placed seventh in the 200 meters in 23.38, Brad Kane (Fr., Ardmore, PA/Haverford School) finished seventh in the 400 meters in 53.07 and Mike Arnold (So., Kresgeville, PA/Pleasant Valley) finished in 8.31 to place sixth in the 55 meter hurdles. In the middle distance events, Aldace Fleming (Sr., Ridgefield, CT/Ridgefield) raced to the line in a time of 2:00.25 to place fifth in the 800 meters. Franklin & Marshall notched three top 10 finishes in the relays as the 4X200 relay team of Jon Brallier (Jr., Chambersburg, PA/Mercersburg Academy), Gomolinski, Evan Yeaw (So., Ridgewood, NJ/Ridgewood) and Kane crossed the line in 1:35.34 to place seventh. The team of Brallier, Gomolinski, Fleming and Yeaw finished fifth in the 4X400 relay in a time of 3:34.35, and the squad of Jeremy Alexander (Fr., Ambler, PA/Wissahickon), Arnold, Chris Didizian (Jr., Penn Valley, PA/Haverford School) and Fleming finished ninth in the distance medley relay in a time of 11:09.42. In the field events, Brallier won the pole vault with a height of 14-3.25, while Zach Barninger (Jr., Wrightsville, PA/Eastern York) cleared 13-11.25 to place fourth. Freddy Martino (So., Harleysville, PA/Lansdale Catholic) notched a pair of top 10 finishes as he jumped 20-01.75 to finish eighth in the long jump and leapt 44-01.50 to place second in the triple jump. Alex Falk (Jr., Philadelphia, PA/Trinity-Pawling) closed out the Diplomats leaders as he finished third in the shot put with a distance of 464.25. Franklin & Marshall will continue the season on March 3-4 at the Eastern College Athletic Conference Championships hosted by Ursinus College. Team Scores:
