Diplomats Sweep Ursinus, 3-0, in Volleyball

LANCASTER, PA -- Emily Green (Sr., Woodstock, CT/Woodstock) became the 9th player to record 1,000 digs in a career as the Franklin & Marshall College Diplomats swept Ursinus College 3-0 in women's volleyball on Saturday. Green tallied 15 digs, 8 kills, 5 service aces and 3 blocks to star for the Diplomats who improve to 13-6, 5-4 in the Centennial Conference for the year. Rose Hartmann (Jr., Warminster, PA/William Tennent) registered two service aces and 4 kills, with a .571 hitting percentage, while Liz Earll (Fr., New Freedom, PA/Susquehannock) blocked five balls and chalked up 21 digs. Heidi Goedicke (Jr., Spring Church, PA/Elderton) and Kristen Kowalski (Jr., York, PA/Central York) scored 11 and 14 kills, respectively. Setter Jen Grue (So., Canton, PA/Canton) sparked the F&M offense with 41 assists and 13 digs, and Lynne Achenbach (So., York, PA/Central York) notched four kills and 2 blocks in the match. Franklin & Marshall College will continue the season on October 10 at Muhlenberg College. Opening serve is set for 7:00 p.m. in Allentown.
