Kowalski Named October 1 Centennial Conference Volleyball Player of the Week

Lancaster, Pa.- Centennial Conference Executive Secretary Steve Ulrich announced that Franklin & Marshall College outside hitter Kristen Kowalski (Sr., York, PA/ Central York) has been named the October 1st Centennial Conference Volleyball Player of the Week. In a 3-0 week for the Diplomats, Kowalski totaled 41 kills, four aces, 21 digs and one solo block on the week, including 20 kills, and 10 digs against Dickinson College in a 3-1 victory. On Saturday in a tri-match at Washington College, Kowalski recorded 10 kills, two aces and six digs against the host Shorewomen in a 3-0 win and then pitched in 11 kills, five digs and a solo block in a 3-0 win against Haverford. On the year, Kowalski has recorded 236 kills for an average of 3.32 kills per game, 20 service aces, 93 digs and seven total blocks. Kowalski ranks among the Conference best in kills per game (3.32, 8th) and in hitting percentage (.267, 3rd). As a team, the Diplomats rank among the Conference's best in kills per game (13.92, 1st), hitting percentage (.255, 1st), assists (12.34, 1st), service aces (2.81, 1st), digs (18.21, 4th) and blocks (1.62, 7th). Franklin & Marshall returns to action October 5-6 when they participate in the Cortland State Tournament. First serve is set for 1 p.m.
