NYU & Cortland Outlast F&M 3-1 in Volleyball

CORTLAND, NY - Franklin & Marshall College outside hitter Kristen Kowalski (Sr., York, PA/Central York) registered 14 kills versus NYU and 16 versus Cortland State as the Diplomats fell 3-1 in a pair of volleyball matches.

Versus NYU, F&M would receive 35 assists from setter Jackie Skibbie (Fr., Darby, PA/Merion Mercy) and nine kills from Heidi Goedicke (Spring Church, PA/ Elderton), but NYU claimed victory 30-22, 30-16, 24-30, 30-21.

Against Cortland, Elizabeth Earll (So., New Freedom, PA/Susquehannock) knocked down 21 kills and Skibbie handed out 58 assists, but the Dragons used 16 kills from junior Megan Thurkins to defeat the #3 regionally ranked Diplomats 30-28, 30-24, 24-30, 30-28.

F&M (18-5, 4-0 Centennial Conference) will continue the season on October 9 at Swarthmore College. Match time is set for 7:00 p.m.
