Diplomats Win 20th Volleyball Match of the Season with 3-0 Victory at Ursinus

COLLEGEVILLE, PA - Heidi Goedicke (Sr., Spring Church, PA/Elderton) registered 11 kills and Katherine Litras (Fr., Greenlawn, NY/John Glenn) added 33 assists as the Franklin & Marshall College women's volleyball team defeated Ursinus College 3-0 (30-18, 30-21, 30-25) to win their 20th match of the season. The Diplomats jumped out to a quick start in the match pulling away from the Bears in game one behind five kills from Goedicke. In game two, Elizabeth Earll (So., New Freedom, PA/Susquehannock) tallied four kills, while Rose Hartmann (Sr., Warminster, PA/William Tennent) and Kristin Kowalski (Sr., York, PA/Central York) had solo blocks. Kowalski added three kills in the third game as the Diplomats recorded their third three game sweep of the season. For Ursinus (7-13, 1-3 CC), Erin O'Hara recorded seven kills and 12 digs and Marie DiFelicianto added five kills and 18 digs to lead the Bears. The victory improves F&M to 20-5 on the year, marking the seventh consecutive year that the Diplomats have recorded 20 or more victories. In program history, Franklin & Marshall has won 20+ matches in 11 of the last 12 years under head coaches Mary Mix, Steve Coulson and current coach, Nicole Goscilo. Franklin & Marshall (20-5, 6-0 Centennial Conference) will return to action on October 16 in the Mayser Center versus Muhlenberg College.
