Hartmann Named to November 5th Centennial Conference Volleyball Honor Roll

LANCASTER, PA - Steve Ulrich, Executive Secretary of the
Centennial Conference, announced that Franklin & Marshall
College middle blocker Rose Hartmann (Sr., Warminster, PA/William
Tennent) has been named to the volleyball honor roll for the
period of October 28th through November 3rd.
She recorded 46 kills, 16 solo blocks, three assisted blocks and eight service aces on the week. Against Marymount in a 3-0 victory, she tallied 15 kills, seven service aces and nine solo blocks. In the third place match at the Messiah Tournament, Hartmann recorded 20 kills and four solo blocks in a 3-0 win over Catholic. Hartmann is among the Centennial Conference leaders in kills per game (3.10, 9th), hitting percentage (.258, 5th), service aces per game (.79, 1st) and blocks per game (.76, 8th). As a team, the Diplomats rank first in kills per game (13.79), second in hitting percentage (.217), second in assists (12.40), first in service aces (2.70), fourth in digs (18.61) and tenth in blocks (1.51). Franklin & Marshall will return to action on November 9 against Johns Hopkins University in the semifinal round of the Centennial Conference playoffs. In the other semifinal, top-seeded Getttysburg College will face Haverford with the four-team single-elimination tournament slated to begin at 2:00 p.m. The first round winners will return to the court forty-five minutes after the completion of the semifinal round for the 2002 Centennial Conference title and a berth in the upcoming National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Championship field.
