Zeigler Named to September 23 Centennial Conference Volleyball Honor Roll

LANCASTER, PA - Franklin & Marshall outside hitter Rebecca Zeigler (So., Manchester, PA/Northeastern) has been named to the September 23 Centennial Conference Volleyball Honor Roll for her performance during the period of September 15-21.

In a 3-0 week for the Diplomats, she recorded 21 kills, 29 digs, four service aces and three assists. Against Bryn Mawr, Zeigler tallied seven kills, seven digs, one ace and one assisted block to lead the Diplomats to a 3-1 victory.

Over the weekend, she powered Franklin & Marshall over Messiah and DeSales as the Diplomats captured the 2003 F&M Invitational at home in the Mayser Center. In a 3-1 opening round victory over Messiah, Zeigler added nine kills, two assists, one ace and eight digs. She rounded out the week with five kills, one assist, 14 digs and two aces in a 3-0 victory over DeSales.

In the latest Centennial Conference statistics, Zeigler ranks 10th in digs per game as she is averaging 3.58 (86 in 24 games).

Overall, the Diplomats dominate the individual digs statistics as libero/outside hitter Meghan Godorov (So., Orefield, PA/Parkland) leads the Conference with 8.20 per game (232 in 28 games), while outside hitter Maureen Lafferty (Sr., Collegeville, PA/Villa Maria) ranks third with 4.71 per game (132 in 28 games).

As a team, Franklin & Marshall leads the Centennial Conference in kills per game (13.86), hitting percentage (.259) and digs (27.14), while ranking second in assists (12.68) and sixth in service aces (2.68) through the first 28 games of the season.

Franklin & Marshall (8-3, 1-0 Centennial Conference) will continue the season on September 24 versus Haverford College. Opening serve is set for 7:00 p.m.
