Franklin & Marshall Goes 1-1 at Messiah College Volleyball Invitational

LANCASTER, PA – The Franklin & Marshall College volleyball team finished 1-1 at the Messiah College Invitational to conclude the regular season.

Versus Catholic University, the Diplomats rolled to a 3-0 victory 3-0 (30-27, 30-26, 30-26) as Maureen Lafferty (Sr., Collegeville, PA/Villa Maria) led the way for the Diplomats with 12 kills and 25 digs. Tara Clarke (Sr., Baltimore, MD/Hereford) chipped in 11 kills and Nicole Kushman (Fr., Chalfont, PA/Central Bucks) added seven kills and 21 digs as the Diplomats avenged a 3-1 loss to Catholic in the Franklin & Marshall season-opening tournament on August 30.

In the second match of the day, Franklin & Marshall fell to Messiah College 3-2 (23-30, 31-29, 26-30, 30-21, 12-15). Meghan Godorov (So., Orefield, PA/Parkland) led the team on defense with 40 digs, while Kushman recorded 12 kills and Liz Earll (Jr., New Freedom, PA/Susquehannock) had 11 kills.

The Diplomats will return to action on November 8 at Gettysburg College for the Centennial Conference Championship Tournament. The #3 seeded Diplomats will take on #2 seed Johns Hopkins University, while #1 Gettysburg will face #4 Haverford.
