Earll Leads Diplomats at Juniata Volleyball Invitational

HUNTINGDON, PA - Middle blocker Elizabeth Earll (Jr., New Freedom, PA/Susquehannock) finished with 44 kills as the Franklin & Marshall College women's volleyball team competed at the Juniata Volleyball Invitational.

On Friday versus Division I Princeton, Earll tallied eight kills and setter Jenn Grue (Sr., Canton, PA/Canton) dished out 12 assists as the Diplomats fell 3-0 (30-8, 30-20, 30-17). Franklin & Marshall continued the tournament with a 3-0 loss to Seton Hill as Earll pounded nine kills and four aces, outside hitter Maureen Lafferty (Sr., Collegeville, PA/Villa Maria) registered seven kills and four aces, while Grue handed off 25 assists.

Against Division III RIT, Earll knocked down 18 kills and Lafferty added 46 assists as the Diplomats fell in a marathon 3-2 match (30-19, 22-30, 30-24, 21-30, 15-10). The team concluded the invitational with a 3-0 loss to #1 nationally ranked Juniata College as the Eagles soared to a 3-0 (30-19, 30-15, 30-17) victory. Against Juniata, Earll led the team with nine kills.

Franklin & Marshall (9-7, 2-0 Centennial Conference) will continue the season on October 2 at Lebanon Valley College. Opening serve is set for 7:00 p.m.
