Phelan Ranks Among National Kills Leaders in October 31 NCAA Volleyball Statistics

LANCASTER, PA – Franklin & Marshall College outside hitter Margot Phelan (Fr., Ellicott City, MD/Centennial) is ranked 27th in kills per game in the October 31 NCAA Division III women’s volleyball statistics.

The Centennial Conference leader in kills per game with 384 in 89 games for an average of 4.31, she has helped lead Franklin & Marshall to a 20-8 record, 8-2 in the Centennial Conference.

Through games of October 30, she has 18 assists, 15 service aces, 211 digs and 21 blocks (10 solo, 11 assist) as the Diplomats earned the #4 seed in the Centennial Conference playoffs.

In the first round, Franklin & Marshall defeated Swarthmore 3-2 as Phelan recorded 27 kills, 22 digs, two blocks and one service ace on the night to raise her season kills average to 4.47 per game.

Ranked fourth in the November 1 NCAA Mid-Atlantic Region poll, Franklin & Marshall (20-8, 8-2 Centennial Conference) will continue the season on November 5 at #1 seed Johns Hopkins University (23-5, 9-1 CC) in the semifinals of the 2005 Centennial Conference Playoffs at 2:30 p.m.

Prior to the F&M-JHU match, #2 seed Gettysburg College (18-12, 8-2 CC) will take on #3 Haverford College (18-8, 8-2 CC) at noon. The winners of the semifinal matches will meet on November 6 at Hopkins in the championship match set for a 1:00 p.m. start time.
