Diplomats Down Dickinson Red Devils 3-0 in Volleyball

CARLISLE, PA – Setter Jackie Skibbie (Sr., Upper Darby, PA/Merion Mercy) recorded 33 assists, five kills, 14 digs and a service ace to lead the Franklin & Marshall College volleyball team to a 3-0 (30-28, 30-20, 30-21) win at Dickinson College and clinch a berth in the Centennial Conference playoffs.

Courtesy the win, F&M secured a place in the five-team Centennial Conference volleyball championship tournament set for November 3, 5-6.

Outside hitter Alexis Dansky (Jr., Yardley, PA/George School) added eight kills and two solo blocks, middle hitter Susan Taylor (So., The Woodlands, TX/John Cooper) chipped in 10 kills, one solo block and two block assists and libero Meghan Godorov (Sr., Orefield, PA/Parkland) tacked on 14 digs and two service aces as the Diplomats improved their record to 14-4, 7-2 in the Centennial Conference.

The win marks the 20th straight for the Diplomats over Dickinson (6-14, 1-6 CC) as Franklin & Marshall previously defeated the Red Devils at home 3-0 (30-27, 30-22, 30-27) in the first match of the 2005 season. Historically, Franklin & Marshall is now 34-6-1 all-time against Dickinson as the Red Devils last defeated the Diplomats in 1989.

Franklin & Marshall will continue the season on October 21-22 at the Juniata University Invitational.
