ALLENTOWN, PA -- Five Muhlenberg College (6-0, 1-0 Centennial Conference) players broke into double-digits in scoring led by Jenn Risley and Lindsay St. Lawrence with 14, as the Mules outlasted Frnaklin & Marshall (3-3, 1-1 Centennial Conference) for a 77-55 win. Down 22-17 at the 7:49 mark of the first half, Muhlenberg would run off a 22-to-six run to take a 39-28 lead into halftime as Risley finished the half with nine of her 14 points. For the Diplomats, F&M center Amy Abernathy (So., Far Hills, NJ/American School Paris) tallied 16 points and 11 rebounds for her fourth double-double of the season. She previously recorded double-doubles against Waynesburg (23 points, 15 rebounds), Lycoming (21 points, 19 rebounds) and Gwynedd Mercy (16 points, 13 rebounds) College. In the backcourt, guard Lauren Howanski (Sr., Gap, PA/Pequea Valley) scored 13 points off a five-of-12 shooting performance to move within 26 of becoming the 10th player in F&M history to record 1,000 career points, while Amy Kreitz (Sr., Allentown, PA/Salisbury) chipped in 15 points. The game would be a matter of halves as the Diplomats connected on 59.1 percent of their shots in the first half, and only 35.3 in the second, while Muhlenberg knocked down 39.5 and 50.0 percent in the first and second halves, respectively. Overall, the Mules converted eight-of-14 shots from beyond the three-point arch, including back-to-back three-pointers from St. Lawrence to push the Muhlenberg lead to 20 points with 10:24 left on the game clock. Statistically, St. Lawrence finished the game four-of-five from long range, while Gwen Doyle chipped in a three-for-three performance. Franklin & Marshall will continue the season on December 4 at Western Maryland College. Opening tip-off is set for 7:00 p.m.
