LANCASTER, PA -- Franklin & Marshall center Amy Abernathy (So., Far Hills, NJ/American School Paris) and guard Amy Kreitz (Sr., Allentown, PA/Salisbury) scored 21 and 20 points, respectively, as the Diplomats improved their win streak to 11 straight with a 70-55 win over Western Maryland.

F&M, which improves to 14-4, 7-2 in the Centennial Conference, has not lost since a 82-69 defeat at Western Maryland on December 4 to remain in second place in the Centennial Conference Western Division. Western Maryland, which falls to 13-5, slips to third in the Centennial Conference West as the Green Terror are now 6-3 in CC play.

Abernathy would pick up her 12th double-double of the season as she finished with 21 points and 15 boards in 35 minutes, while Kreitz added 20 points.

The 6-0 center from Far Hills would dominate the Green Terror in the post, blocking five shots and swiping five steals to lead the team. Overall, Abernathy now has 89 blocked shots in 43 career games, 23 off moving past Jen Gibbon '99 and into fourth place in the statistical category.

Overall, the Diplomats would lead the Green Terror for all but nine seconds as Western Maryland scored the first basket when Toby McIntire hit a field goal just 43 seconds into the game. F&M would answer back with 19:08 left in the half as Abernathy laid in a basket to tie the game.

The Diplomats would take the lead for good 42 seconds later as Kreitz drove down the paint and pulled up for a jumper to put F&M up 4-2, a lead which they would never relinquish for the remainder of the game.

Leading 41-30 at the half, F&M would go on a second half spurt that saw the Diplomats lead by as many as 16 points during the second half. Overall, Kreitz would finish with seven points and Abernathy nine points in the last half of the game as the Diplomats maintained a steady 14 point lead over most of the second half.

Senior Lauren Howanski (Gap, PA/Pequea Valley) added five points and four assists, while Jamie Drahos (Jr., Ambler, PA/Wissahickon) chipped in seven points and five rebounds.

For Western Maryland, Kris Brust led the Green Terror with 14 points, while Stephanie McPherson pulled down a team high six rebounds. Jen Piccolomini added 12 points and McIntire chipped in 10 as three Terror reached double digits.
