Howanski Named to January 28th Centennial Conference Women's Basketball Honor Roll

LANCASTER, PA - Franklin & Marshall College guard/forward Lauren Howanski (Sr., Gap, PA/Pequea Valley) has been named to the Centennial Conference Women's Basketball Honor Roll for the period of January 21st through 28th.

Last week, she scored the final five points of the game in 40 seconds, including a lay-up while falling down with 2.2 seconds left on the game clock to fell Johns Hopkins 71-70 in Centennial Conference play.

The loss marks Hopkins second of the season and their first conference loss to end a nine game win streak by the Blue Jays, while extending F&M's win streak to nine.

On Saturday, she added five points in 17 minutes of play as F&M defeated Washington College, 78-61, to improve to 6-2 in Centennial Conference play.

In the latest Centennial Conference statistics, Howanski ranks 16th in scoring as she is averaging 12.2 points per game, 0.1 behind 15th ranked Katie Shearer of Ursinus College, as the Diplomats possess the third most potent offense in the Conference with an average of 72.9 points per game.

Historically, she ranks eighth in career scoring (1,105) and is tied with teammate Amy Kreitz (Sr., Allentown, PA/Salisbury) for third on the three-point goals (96) list all-time at the College.

She is four assists away from surpassing Cathy Kopcza '93 for sixth on the all-time assists leader board at the College as Howanski now has 219 scoring passes through 66 games, an average of 3.32 per contest.

Franklin & Marshall (13-4, 6-2 Centennial Conference) will continue their season at home on Wednesday versus Western Maryland College. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m.
