CARLISLE, PA - Dickinson College's Jen Reitmeyer scored 12 of a game high 26 points in the first half to help the Red Devil's hold off a second half comeback by Franklin & Marshall in a 67-64 Centennial Conference victory. The victory marks the Red Devils first over F&M since a 70-60 win on February 16, 2000 as F&M had claimed the last four meetings between the two teams. The Diplomats were led by center Amy Abernathy (Jr., Far Hills, NJ/American School Paris) who poured in 17 points, including 12 in the first half, and 10 rebounds, while guard Courtney Tierney (Jr., Princeton, NJ/Hun School) connected on seven-of-13 from the field and five-of-nine from beyond the arc for 23 points. In the first half, Dickinson pulled out to a 32-25 halftime lead behind 12 points from Jen Reitmeyer who connected on four-of-seven from the floor and three-of-four at the foul-line, as the Red Devils made 11-of-27 field goal attempts. The Diplomats attempted a comeback in the second half hitting six-of-11 from three-point range to stay with the Devils, but Dickinson turned up the heat shooting 10-of-19 from the floor and 13-of-21 at the free-throw line for the three-point victory. Overall, all 23 of Tierney's points came in the second half as the Division I transfer from FDU-Teaneck attempted only one shot in the first half. Jamie Drahos (Sr., Ambler, PA/Wissahickon) chipped in nine points and Abernathy added a game high four steals as the Diplomats fall to 9-6, 3-3 in Centennial Conference play. For Dickinson, Megan Shelley and Julie Younes registered 15 and 12 points, respectively, as Dickinson improved to 6-10, 3-3 in Centennial Conference play. Franklin & Marshall will return to action on January 29 when they travel to Baltimore, MD to face Centennial Conference foe Johns Hopkins University. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m.
