Abernathy Named to January 27 Centennial Conference Women's Basketball Honor Roll

LANCASTER, PA - Steve Ulrich, Executive Secretary of the Centennial Conference, announced that Franklin & Marshall College center Amy Abernathy (Jr., Far Hills, NJ/American School - Paris) has been named to the women's basketball honor roll for the week of January 20th - 26th. She averaged 17 points, 10.5 rebounds, 3.5 steals and two blocks in a 0-2 week for the Diplomats. Against Dickinson College, she had 17 points, 10 boards, 4 steals, 2 blocks and an assist in a 67-64 loss. For her career, Abernathy has 906 points and 723 rebounds as she is on pace to become the 23rd member of the 1,000 point club in women's basketball history at the College. Further, she may become the second player in men's and/or women's basketball history to achieve a double-grand joining Anne Krumrine '90 (1,811 points & 1,180 rebounds). In addition, she moved into fifth place in Centennial Conference history in blocked shots with 136, two more than former McDaniel College player Kathi Snyder '99 (134). In the latest CC statistics, Abernathy ranks in scoring (15.0, fifth), rebounding (10.6, second), field goal percentage (.554, second), free throw percentage (.671, 13th), steals (2.0, ninth), blocked shots (1.93, second), offensive rebounds (4.40, first) and defensive rebounds (6.20, third). Franklin & Marshall will return to action on January 29 when they travel to Johns Hopkins University. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m.
