Abernathy Named to February 3 Centennial Conference Women's Basketball Honor Roll

LANCASTER, PA - Steve Ulrich, Executive Secretary of the Centennial Conference, announced that Franklin & Marshall College center Amy Abernathy (Jr., Far Hills, NJ/American School - Paris) has been named to the women's basketball honor roll for the week of January 27th - February 2nd.

She averaged 18 points, 10.5 rebounds, 3.5 blocked shots and four steals in a 1-1 week. In a 82-78 win at Washington College, she recorded her conference leading 12th double-double of the year with 23 points and 11 rebounds to go along with four blocked shots and two steals.

For her career, Abernathy has 942 points and 744 rebounds as she is on pace to become the 23rd member of the 1,000 point club in women's basketball history at the College. Further, she may become the second player in men's and/or women's basketball history to achieve a double-grand joining Anne Krumrine '90 (1,811 points & 1,180 rebounds).

In the latest CC statistics, Abernathy ranks in scoring (15.4, fifth), rebounding (10.6, third), field goal percentage (.546, second), steals (2.24, sixth), blocked shots (2.12, second), offensive rebounds (4.47, first) and defensive rebounds (6.12, third).

Franklin & Marshall (10-7, 4-4 Centennial Conference) will return to action on February 4 when they travel to McDaniel College. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m. in Westminster, Maryland.
