Tierney Named to February 24 Centennial Conference Women's Basketball Honor Roll

LANCASTER, PA - Steve Ulrich, Executive Secretary of the Centennial Conference, announced that Franklin & Marshall College guard Courtney Tierney (Jr., Princeton, NJ/Hun School) has been named to the Centennial Conference Women's Honor Roll for the period of February 17-23.

Tierney shot 14-of-25 from the floor for an average of 17.5 points in a 1-1 week for the Diplomats. Versus Dickinson College in a 76-66 win, she hit nine-of-15, including four-of six from long range, for 22 points.

In the latest Centennial Conference standings, Tierney ranks 15th in scoring (11.1), 11th in assists (2.74), eighth in three point field goal percentage (.331), ninth in three point field goals made (1.70), and 14th in assist/turnover ratio (0.57) per game.

As a team the Diplomats (13-10, 7-7 CC) rank among the CC's top five in scoring defense (62.7, fifth), field goal percentage (.405, third), field goal percentage defense (.382, fifth), rebounding offense (44.0, first), rebounding defense (38.5), rebounding margin (+5.4, first), blocked shots (3.87, second), assists (13.52, fifth), steals (10.91, fourth), offensive rebounds (16.87, second) and defensive rebounds (27.09, fifth) per game.

Following a 63-60 loss to Johns Hopkins in the Mayser Center on Saturday which knocked the Diplomats out of playoff contention, Franklin & Marshall will now await word from the Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III South Region Committee on March 3 regarding a bid to the ECAC Playoffs. In 2001 and 2002, F&M received bids to the ECAC Playoffs, including a run to the 2002 title game before falling to DeSales University 79-68 in overtime.
