Abernathy Named to November 24 Centennial Conference Women's Basketball Honor Roll

LANCASTER, PA - Franklin & Marshall College center Amy Abernathy (Sr., Far Hills, NJ/American School-Paris) has been named to the November 24 Centennial Conference women's basketball honor roll.

In an 0-2 week for the Diplomats, the six-foot senior scored 34 points and brought down 39 rebounds with six blocked shots and five steals in two games to earn All-Tournament honors at the Franklin & Marshall College Women's Tip-Off Tournament.

Versus York College of Pennsylvania in the opening round, she chipped in 25 points, 21 rebounds, four steals and four blocked shots as the Diplomats fell 78-73. She concluded the weekend with 18 rebounds, nine points and two blocked shots in a 60-46 loss to Washington & Jefferson.

An All-Centennial Conference and All-Eastern College Athletic Conference first team selection last year, Abernathy earned D3Hoops.com All Mid-Atlantic Region second team honors as she led the Diplomats in points (391), rebounds (247), blocked shots (51), steals (49) and field goal percentage (.555) last season. For her career, she now has 1,106 points, 850 rebounds, 162 blocks and 132 steals as she is on pace to join Anne Krumrine '90 as the only players in program history to finish with 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds in their careers.

The Diplomats will return to action on November 25 when they travel to face Centennial Conference foe Muhlenberg College.

Game time is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
