LANCASTER, PA -- Franklin & Marshall College center Amy Abernathy (Sr., Far Hills, NJ/American School-Paris) has been named the January 26 Centennial Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week.

It marks the second time this year she has been named CC Player of the Week as Abernathy earned the honor on January 12.

In a 2-0 week, the 6'-0" center recorded 36 points, grabbed 21 rebounds, blocked seven shots and corralled two steals as the Diplomats handled Dickinson (51-43 W) and Haverford (89-53) to improve their record to 7-7, 7-3 in Centennial Conference play.

Versus Haverford, she scored 22 points, brought down 12 rebounds, blocked four shots and added a steal as she became the third F&M women's basketball player to record 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds with her second board of the day against the Fords.

She joins Anne Krumrine '90 (1,811 points, 1,180 rebounds) and Tina Breithaupt '94 (1,293 points, 1,108 rebounds) in the exclusive club as she became only the fourth basketball player in school history to accomplish the feat as Gus Lovett '53 (1,223 points, 1,161 rebounds) is the only men's player to reach a grand in both categories.

Overall, Abernathy now has 1,293 points, 1,010 rebounds and 213 blocked shots as she is now tied with Breithaupt for sixth in school history in scoring, while ranking third in rebounds and blocked shots. She can move into second in blocked shots in F&M history in her next game, as she is four rejections short of surpassing Breithaupt (216). In addition, she is third in blocked shots, fifth in rebounding and 16th in scoring in Centennial Conference history.

In the latest Centennial Conference statistics, she ranks among the leaders in blocked shots (3.39, first), rebounding (14.2 rpg, first), offensive rebounds (5.50 rpg, first), defensive rebounds (8.71 rpg, first), field goal percentage (.531, second) and scoring (15.8 ppg, third).
