Abernathy Named to February 10 Centennial Conference Women's Basketball Honor Roll

LANCASTER, PA -- Franklin & Marshall College center Amy Abernathy (Sr., Far Hills, NJ/American School-Paris) has been named to the February 10 Centennial Conference Women's Basketball Honor Roll. In a 1-2 week, she scored 58 points on 26-of-39 shooting (67%) from the field and six-of-12 at the free-throw line while hauling in 34 rebounds, blocking 11 shots and recording five steals and two assists as the Diplomats defeated Ursinus (80-69 W), but fell to Elizabethtown (71-62 L) and Johns Hopkins (70-62 L). Versus Hopkins, she recorded 21 points on 10-of-12 shooting from the field while grabbing 11 rebounds and blocking three shots. The third women's player in F&M history to record 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds in a career, she now has 1,367 points, 1,060 rebounds and 229 blocked shots as she is sixth in scoring, third in rebounding and second in blocked shots in F&M history. In addition, she is third in blocked shots, fifth in rebounding and 11th in scoring in Centennial Conference history. In the latest Centennial Conference statistics, she ranks among the leaders in scoring (16.4 ppg, second), rebounding (13.8 rpg, first), field goal percentage (.544, first), blocked shots (3.94 bpg, first), offensive rebounds (5.22 rpg, first) and defensive rebounds (8.61 rpg, first). As a team, F&M ranks among the Conference leaders in three-point field goal percentage (.341, first), blocked shots (4.72 bpg, second), field goal percentage (.423, second), rebounding defense (37.4 rpg, third), assists (16.89 apg, third), assist/turnover ratio (0.78, third), three-point field goals made (5.06 pg, third), home attendance (161 pg, third), scoring margin (+7.6 ppg, fourth), scoring offense (66.5 ppg, fifth), scoring defense (58.9 ppg, fifth), free throw percentage (.672, fifth), field goal percentage defense (.363, fifth), rebounding margin (+3.4 rpg, fifth), turnover margin (0.72, fifth), rebounding offense (40.9 rpg, sixth), steals (10.56 spg, sixth) and offensive rebounds (26.22 rpg, sixth). Franklin & Marshall (9-9, 9-4 Centennial Conference) will return to action on February 10 at home in the Mayser Center versus Dickinson College. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m.
