Tierney Named to March 1 Centennial Conference Women's Basketball Honor Roll

LANCASTER, PA -- Franklin & Marshall College guard Courtney Tierney (Sr., Princeton, NJ/Hun School) has been named to the March 1 Centennial Conference Women's Basketball Honor Roll.

In an 85-76 loss at Johns Hopkins University in the Centennial Conference semifinals, Tierney netted a team high 23 points to lead the Diplomats.

A 2004 All-Centennial Conference second team selection, she concluded her career at F&M with 642 points in two seasons as she transferred to F&M prior to the 2003 season from Division I Farleigh-Dickinson Metropolitan. At FDU, she netted 58 points as she concludes her collegiate career with 700 points.

In the latest Centennial Conference statistics, she ranks scoring (16.1 ppg, fourth), assists (3.46 apg, fourth), free throw percentage (.775, second), three-point field goal percentage (.354, seventh) and three-point field goals made (2.33 pg, first).

As a team the Diplomats rank in scoring offense (65.2 ppg, fifth), scoring defense (59.1 ppg, fourth), scoring margin (+6.2 ppg, fourth), free-throw percentage (.681, fifth), field goal percentage (.413, second), three-point field goal percentage (.334, first), rebounding (38.8 rpg, third), blocked shots (5.21 bpg, second), assists (15.83 apg, third) and three-point field goals made (4.96 pg, second).

The daughter of Helen and Bill Tierney, the head men's lacrosse coach at Princeton University who has led his team to five national championships and guided the US national team to a world championship, Tierney began her collegiate career after an outstanding high school career.

At the Hun School, she set the all-time career points record with 1,750 (including nine games of 30 or more as a senior) enroute to being named the 1999-2000 Star-Ledger Player of the Year. A First Team All-State selection as a senior, she earned the Mercer County Player of the Year award her last three seasons of high school.

Franklin & Marshall concluded the season 12-12, 12-6 in Centennial Conference play.
