Abernathy Ranks Among Nation's Best in March 14 NCAA Women's Basketball Statistics

LANCASTER, PA - Franklin & Marshall College center Amy Abernathy (Sr., Far Hills, NJ/American School Paris) ranks among the national leaders in the latest NCAA Division III women's basketball statistics for games through March 14.

A 2004 D3hoops.com Preseason All-America selection and a finalist for the Kodak/WBCA All-America Team, Abernathy ranks second in the nation in rebounding with 13.8 boards per game, 1.3 boards behind national leader Jacclyn Rock of Staten Island (15.1 rpg).

In addition, she ranks fourth in blocked shots per game with 4.6, 0.9 off the pace of national leader Karin Schaller of Blufton (5.5 bpg).

The third women's player in F&M history to record 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds in a career, Abernathy finished her career with 1,473 points, 1,141 rebounds and 268 blocked shots to rank sixth in scoring, second in rebounding and second in blocked shots in F&M history.

Franklin & Marshall concluded the season 12-12 overall and 12-6 in Centennial Conference play to finish fourth in the 11-team conference.
