Dodrill Named 2004 Women's Basketball Lacy Linchpin Award Recipient

LANCASTER, PA -- Franklin & Marshall College forward Lauren Dodrill (Jr., Timonium, MD/Roland Park) has been named the winner of the 2004 women's basketball "Lacy Linchpin" Award.

Winners of the "Lacy Linchpin" Award, presented on behalf of Dr. and Mrs. O.W. Lacy in memory of their daughter Lucinda Puryear Lacy '76, are selected by a committee chaired by Dr. Lacy.

The award is presented to "a member of the women's and men’s basketball teams who have been a linchpin or cornerstone of the team - someone who is quietly modest, scrupulously fair, uprightly honorable and steadfastly diligent in practice, in the game, in the classroom and on- and off-campus."

This year, she contributed 6.6 points and 5.3 rebounds as she finished the season with 158 points, 126 rebounds, six blocked shots, 19 assists and 19 steals in 504 minutes of play.

For her career, she has 250 points, 199 rebounds, 13 blocked shots, 24 assists and 28 steals in 715 minutes.

Franklin & Marshall concluded the 2004 season 12-12 overall and 12-6 in Centennial Conference play to finish fourth in the 11-team conference.
