LANCASTER, PA – Erika Linnander has been named the interim head women’s basketball coach at Franklin & Marshall College.

An assistant coach under head coach Beth Elbon last year, she replaces Elbon who left the position on maternity leave last week.

A 2001 graduate of Franklin & Marshall, Linnander scored 228 points, pulled down 219 rebounds and blocked 27 shots in 71 games over a four year career as a Diplomat.

A native of Nazareth, Pennsylvania, she was a founding member of the F&M women's golf team.

She will be assisted by Kirsten Richter ’03 and Melissa Reiss as she takes over a squad that returns two starters in point guard Dana Johns (Jr., York, PA/Eastern York) and forward Lauren Dodrill (Sr., Timonium, MD/Roland Park) from a team that finished the 2003-04 season 12-12, 12-6 in Centennial Conference (CC) play, to advance to the CC semfinals.

Franklin & Marshall will open the 2004-05 season on November 20 at home versus Albright College in the annual F&M Tip-Off Tournament. Game time is set for 1:00 p.m.
