LANCASTER, PA - The 2005 Eastern College Athletic Conference champion Franklin & Marshall College women's lacrosse team has been named an Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association Academic Squad. The National Academic Team Award program recognizes those institutions that have achieved a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher during the second semester of the 2004-05 academic year. The award caps off a season in which F&M finished #8 in the final Laxpower.com Women’s Lacrosse Power Rankings and #10 in the final IWLCA Division III poll. Franklin & Marshall concluded the season 14-3, 9-0 in Centennial Conference play, as the team’s ECAC Championship marked F&M’s second title in three years and tied the 2003 ECAC champions (14-5) for the second most season wins in school history behind the 1991 Middle Atlantic Conference championship team (15-1).
