LANCASTER, PA – The Franklin & Marshall College women's lacrosse team is ranked #10 in the March 20 Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association Division III Poll. Ranked #10 in the preseason poll and #12 on March 13, the Diplomats have opened the season 4-0 with wins over #19 Washington & Lee (13-10 W), William Smith College (16-4 W), Connecticut College (14-9 W) and Drew University (12-5 W). Ranked eighth in the final Laxpower.com Women’s Power Rankings and #10 in the final Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Division III poll last season, the Diplomats come into the 2006 season after ranking 16th in scoring offense (13.12 gpg), 12th in scoring defense (6.82 gpg), 10th in scoring margin (6.29 gpg) and eighth in winning percentage (.824) in the final 2005 NCAA Division III statistics. One of the most successful Division III women’s lacrosse programs in the nation, Franklin & Marshall has captured six conference titles as the Diplomats have competed in 14 national championship tournaments and recorded a mark of 284-145-3. 2006 IWLCA Division III Women's Lacrosse Poll (March 20) 1.
