LANCASTER, PA – The Franklin & Marshall College women's lacrosse team moved to #9 in the April 3 Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association Division III Poll. Ranked #10 in the preseason poll, #12 on March 13, #10 on March 20 and #8 on March 27, the Diplomats have opened the season 7-1 with wins over #12 Washington & Lee (13-10 W), William Smith College (16-4 W), Connecticut College (14-9 W), Drew University (12-5 W), Haverford College (16-6 W), Swarthmore College (15-7 W) and Muhlenberg College (18-6 W) and a loss to #1 Salisbury University (14-8 L). The Diplomats have been led in goals this year by April 3 Centennial Conference Player of the Week Jen Pritchard (Fr., Media, PA/Penncrest) who has 19 goals and four assists for 23 points. Last week, she scored eight goals and tallied two assists for 10 points as the Diplomats downed Swarthmore (15-7 W) on the road and Muhlenberg (18-6 W) at home. Against Swarthmore, she scored six goals and handed out an assist to account for seven points before adding two goals and an assist against Muhlenberg. One of the most successful Division III women’s lacrosse programs in the nation, Franklin & Marshall has captured six conference titles as the Diplomats have competed in 14 national championship tournaments and recorded a mark of 287-146-3. 2006 IWLCA Division III Women's Lacrosse Poll (April 3) 1.
