LANCASTER, PA – The Franklin & Marshall College women's lacrosse team moved to #6 in the April 17 Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association Division III Poll. Ranked #10 in the preseason poll, #12 on March 13, #10 on March 20, #8 on March 27, #9 on April 3 and #5 on April 10, the Diplomats are 10-2 on the season with wins over #11 Washington & Lee (13-10 W), William Smith College (16-4 W), Connecticut College (14-9 W), Drew University (12-5 W), Haverford College (16-6 W), Swarthmore College (15-7 W), Muhlenberg College (18-6 W), Ursinus College (15-2 W), McDaniel College (19-9 W) and Washington College (17-8 W) and losses to #3 Salisbury University (14-8 L) and #1 Gettysburg (8-7 3OT). Franklin & Marshall is one of four Centennial Conference schools ranked in the poll as Gettysburg (#1) and Dickinson College (#13) are also among the top 20 teams, while Ursinus received votes. One of the most successful Division III women’s lacrosse programs in the nation, Franklin & Marshall has captured six conference titles as the Diplomats have competed in 14 national championship tournaments and recorded a mark of 290-147-3. Franklin & Marshall (10-2, 6-1 Centennial Conference) will continue the season on April 18 at home versus Dickinson in Centennial Conference action.
