Mort, Rutherford & Diplomats Rank Among National Leaders in April 17 NCAA Lacrosse Statistics

LANCASTER, PA – Franklin & Marshall College goalie Kamissa Mort (Sr., Ashton, MD/Sandy Spring), defender Holly Rutherford (Sr., Rochester, NY/Brighton) and the Diplomats’ women’s lacrosse team are ranked among the national leaders in the April 17 NCAA women’s lacrosse statistics for games through April 16. As a team, the Diplomats are ranked 30th in ground balls (29.83 per game), 15th in scoring offense (14.17 gpg) and winning percentage (83.3%), 18th in scoring defense (7.33 gpg), 14th in scoring margin (6.83 gpg), 12thin caused turnovers (13.75 ctpg) and ninth in draw controls (13.83 per game). Individually, Mort is ranked 14th in goals against average (7.1 per game), while Rutherford is 22nd in caused turnovers (2.58 per game). Following an 18-8 win over #13 Dickinson College on April 18, Mort has 83 saves and 86 goals against for a .491 save percentage, 7.18 goals against average and 10-2 record, while Rutherford has 31 caused turnovers in 13 games for an average of 2.46 per game. Ranked #6 in the Laxpower Computer Rankings and the latest Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association Poll and #5 in the Inside Lacrosse poll, Franklin & Marshall (11-2, 7-1 Centennial Conference) will continue the season on April 21 at Rowan University in non-conference action. Game time is set for 4:30 p.m.
