Diplomats Ranked #8 in April 24 IWLCA Division III Women's Lacrosse Poll

LANCASTER, PA – The Franklin & Marshall College women's lacrosse team moved to #8 in the April 24 Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association Division III Poll.

Ranked #10 in the preseason poll, #12 on March 13, #10 on March 20, #8 on March 27, #9 on April 3, #5 on April 10 and #6 on April 17, the Diplomats finished the regular season 12-3, 8-1 in the Centennial Conference to clinch the #2 seed for the upcoming Centennial Conference playoffs on April 29-30 at Gettysburg College.

On Saturday, the Diplomats will take on #3 seed Dickinson College 45 minutes following the conclusion of the other semifinal between #1 seed Gettysburg College and either #5 seed Swarthmore College or #4 seed Ursinus College.

The winners of the semifinals will clash at 1:00 p.m. at Gettysburg in the Centennial Conference championship game with a berth in the NCAA playoffs on the line.

Franklin & Marshall is one of three Centennial Conference schools ranked in the poll as Gettysburg (#1) and Dickinson College (#13) are also among the top 20 teams.

One of the most successful Division III women’s lacrosse programs in the nation, Franklin & Marshall has captured six conference titles as the Diplomats have competed in 14 national championship tournaments and recorded a mark of 292-148-3 in 30 yards of competition.
