LANCASTER, PA – The Franklin & Marshall College women’s lacrosse team remained fourth in the May 1 NCAA Metro Region poll released by the NCAA Division III Women’s Lacrosse Committee. Ranked third in the April 17 and fourth in the April 24 polls, the Diplomats earned the #2 seed for the Centennial Conference playoffs. In the playoffs, F&M knocked off third-seed Dickinson College 15-12 in the semifinals before falling to top-seed Gettysburg College 8-6 in the title game. Franklin & Marshall (13-4, 8-1 Centennial Conference) is awaiting word from the National Collegiate Athletic Association regarding a possible at-large bid to the NCAA’s national championship playoffs. The announcement will be made on Sunday, May 7 between 9 and 10 p.m. on College Sports Television. One of the most successful Division III women’s lacrosse programs in the nation, Franklin & Marshall has captured six conference titles as the Diplomats have competed in 14 national championship tournaments and recorded a mark of 294-148-3 in 30 years of competition.
