Diplomats Sweep Meredith College 9-0 in Women's Tennis

LANCASTER, PA - Franklin & Marshall College swept the doubles and singles matches to hand Meredith College a 9-0 defeat in women's tennis.

The match marked the first time that Franklin & Marshall and Meredith ever met in women's tennis since the Diplomats earned varsity status in 1974.

The Diplomats (1-0, 0-0 Centennial Conference) breezed to the win as Franklin & Marshall swept through the doubles matches.

In singles, #1 Katie Gaskins (Jr., Richmond, CA/Mills E. Goodwin) downed Meredith Roberson 6-2, 6-0, while Lizzy Denenberg (Sr., Wilmington, DE/Sanford School) defeated Leigh Smith 6-1, 6-0 at #2, Barbara Bee (Jr., Millersville, PA/Penn Manor) downed Holt Gooch 6-0, 6-0 at #3, Danielle Barish (Fr., Brooklandville, MD/St. Paul’s) handled Sarah Gold 6-2, 6-1 at #4, Jenna Ishkanian (So., Wyckoff, NJ/Ramapo) dropped Caitlin Dillon 6-1, 6-0 at #5 and Christina Henkel (So., Hatboro, PA/Hatboro-Horsham) defeated Manda Ritch 6-4, 6-2 at #6.
