LEWISBURG, PA - Franklin & Marshall hurdler/sprinter Keith Hamilton (Sr., Willow Grove, PA/Upper Moreland) set a new school record in the 500 meter run as the Diplomats competed at the 2001 Blue and Orange Open at Bucknell University. Hamilton's performance of 1:08.38, good for third in the nine-man field, shattered the previous program best of 1:08.89 by Scott Sebastian '98 from the 1996 season. He returned to the track to place fifth in the 55-meter high hurdles in a time of 8.16, 0.26 behind the school record of 7.90 held by Mike Ryan '87 from the 1987 season. In field events, Mike Gorsky (Fr., Sharon, MA/Sharon) who leapt 40'5", 10 inches better than last week's 39'7" at the Dickinson College Invitational, to place fifth in the triple jump. In women's events, Sam Pollinger (So., Mahwah, NJ/Northern Highlands) placed seventh in the 800 meter run in a collegiate best 2:34.42, while Jackie Bentley (Jr., Mercersburg, PA/James Buchanan) crossed the finish line in 66.27 for fourth place in the 400 meter dash.
