LANCASTER, PA -- Five records were broken, including a 17-year mark by F&M Athletic Hall of Fame member Lois Lucente, as the Franklin & Marshall Diplomats hosted the 18th Annual Little Three Women's Track & Field Championships at Sponaugle-Williamson Field.

In the 1,500 meters, Sage Stefiuk of Dickinson (4:45.26) and Lauren Davis of Gettysburg (4:50.56) placed first and second as both shattered the 17-year mark of 4:51.7 set by F&M's Lucente during the inaugural women's Little Three Championship in 1985.

The pole vault record of 8'0" held by F&M's Courtney Weibel (2001) and Gettysburg's Kate Diehel was shattered by Emily Haas of Gettysburg who cleared 8' 6" to win the event by one foot.

In distance events, Robin Garber of Dickinson (18:53.8) erased the 5000 meters record of 19:02.15 held by Megan Openhym of Dickinson. Further, Joanna Silver of Gettysburg broke the 400 meters mark of 58.73 with a 58.0, while Angie Hill of Gettysburg set the new Little Three 800 meters record in 2:19.31, nearly six seconds faster then the previous best of 2:25.00 set in 2000.

For the Diplomats, Monique Lumsden (Fr., Brooklyn, NY/Nightingale-Bamford) placed third in the long jump with a leap of 15' 3/4", while Bryn Benford (Fr., Malvern, PA/Great Valley) was fifth in 14' 8". Benford also faired well in the high jump as she placed third with a height of 4' 8", and earned a runner-up nod in the triple jump with a distance of 33' 8 3/4".

In middle distance events, Cassie McCormick (So., Pittsburgh, PA/Fox Chapel) pulled away from Gettysburg's Holly Macko to place fifth in the 1,500 meters in 5:11.35. Sam Pollinger (So., Mahwah, NJ/Northern Highlands) crossed the finish line fourth in the 800 meters in 2:34.12 to edge Macko by 0.75. Bekah Egolf (Fr., Pottstown, PA/Owen J. Roberts) was right behind Pollinger, finishing up in 2:36.39, good for sixth place.

Susanne Daly (Sr., Dallastown, PA/Dallastown) earned a second place finish in the shot-put as the Diplomats finished the day third with 76 points.

Dickinson College claimed the meet championship with 153 points, one better than Gettysburg College (152). It was the closest finish in Little Three history since Gettysburg and Dickinson tied with 59 points in 1991, and matches the inaugural championship meet in 1985 as Dickinson edged out the Diplomats 72-71 for the title.
