CHESTER, PA -- Franklin & Marshall College's Jeanette Finster (So., LaCanada, CA/Flintridge Prep) crossed the finish line in 2:23.92 to place seventh in the 800 meters run at the 2002 Widener University Track & Field Invitational. The time marked the four best by a Centennial Conference runner in the event as Swarthmore's Claire Hoverman placed first in 2:16.77, Dickinson's Callie Bradley was third in 2:18.17 and Ursinus' Katie Dougherty placed fifth in 2:22.48. Finster's performance was one of two top 10 finishes by a Diplomat on the track as Bekah Egolf (Fr., Pottstown, PA/Owen J. Roberts) outsprinted Haverford's Johanna Francis down the stretch to place third in the 5,000 meters in a time of 19:24.0, 1.1 seconds faster than Francis. Kate Harwood (Jr., Ledyard, CT/Ledyard) was 19th in 22:11.9. In field events, Bryn Benford (Fr., Malvern, PA/Great Valley) notched a fourth place finish in the high jump (4-11), finished third in the triple jump with a distance of 32' 0.75", and threw 99-5 to earn 11th in the discus. Monique Lumsden (Fr., Brooklyn, NY/Nightingale-Bamford) was sixth in the triple jump with a 31 1.75". Franklin & Marshall will continue the season on April 27th at the Millersville Metrics.
