Department of Athletics Announces Class of 2006 Women's Track & Field Recruits

Lancaster, Pa. - The Franklin and Marshall College Athletic Department announced today that the following list of recruits have submitted their deposit and will join the F&M women's track & field team: Name Hometown Position Anne Blommer Ottumwa, IA Mid-distance Karina Bongaarts Armonk, NY Sprints, Hurdles, LJ Erin Carr New Cumberland Distance Tara Cooney Douglaston, NY Mid-distance Tammy Crudden Collegeville, PA Distance Brittany Dhein Telford, PA Sprints Samantha Dimmich Allentown, PA Distance Megan Feehan West Chester, PA Distance Erin Golden Swampscott, MA Sprints, Hurdles Robyn Haertel Millburn, NJ Sprints, LJ Cait Linsdey Gibsonia, PA Mid- Distance Anna Lusardi Longmeadow, MA Sprints, Hurdles Jessica Morris Portland, OR Distance Sara Moser-Cohen Fair Haven, NJ Mid-Distance Jackie Netzer West Chester, PA Distance Sarah Primak Mifflintown, PA Pole Vault Beth Randolph Wayne, PA Sprints, Jumps Julia Schwartz Fort Collins, CO Distance SooMi Thompson Avon, CT Sprints, Jumps F&M, which finished 9th at the indoor track and 10th at the outdoor track & field championships, will look to junior Jeanette Finster (LaCanada, CA/Flintridge Prep) to make an impact following a season in which she broke the College's 800 meters record at the CC outdoor championships,
Finster's time of 2:18.60 bettered the previous F&M best of 2:18.88 set by Lois Lucente '86 during the 1985 season. Founded in 1787, Franklin & Marshall College is a coeducational, liberal arts institution. Approximately 1,850 students from 40 states and 60 foreign countries are enrolled in the college's 36 academic disciplines. Franklin & Marshall College supports 26 intercollegiate athletic teams, all on the NCAA Division III level except wrestling (NCAA Division I) and men's and women's squash (independent). F&M also supports multiple club and intramural activities for both men and women.
