CARLISLE, PA - Tara Cooney (So., Douglaston, NY/St. Francis), Libby Haas (Fr., Wrightsville, PA/Eastern) and Laura Lautenbacher (Fr., Langhorne, PA/Nazareth Academy) established new records in the 800 meters, high jump and pole vault, respectively, as the Franklin & Marshall College women's indoor track team placed sixth at the 2003 Dickinson Holiday Invitational.

Cooney crossed the finish line in 2:26.62 to place third and reset her own school record of 2:26.70, which she established last year.

In the pole vault, Lautenbacher cleared 2.77 meters (nine feet-one inch) to better the previous school record of 8-4 feet established by Courtney Weibel '03 from the 2001 season.

Haas erased an 11-year old mark as she cleared 1.58 meters (five feet-two and a half inches) to erase the previous record of 5-2 feet established by Kathy Kavulak '95 during the 1992 season.

In other events, Robyn Haertel (So., Millburn, NJ/Millburn) placed fourth in the 55-meter dash (7.83), second in the 200-meter dash (28.97), while Bryn Benford (Jr., Malvern, PA/Great Valley) placed seventh in the 55-meter hurdles (11.01).

Jeannette Finster (Sr., LaCanada, CA/Flintridge Preparatory) captured the 500 meter dash in 1:25.50, while Karen Ziga (Fr., Haverford, PA/Haverford), Meredith Janeczek (Fr., Hershey, PA/Hershey) and Megan Feehan (So., West Chester, PA/Henderson) placed eighth (11:43.64), ninth (11:52.55) and 12th (12:07.77) in the 3,000 meter run, respectively.

In relays, Franklin & Marshall finished second in the 4X400 (4:25.11) and sixth in the 4X1600 (23:49.79) to establish a school record.

The Diplomats excelled in the field events behind Haas as Amanda Jaskowak (Fr., Grove City, PA/Grove City) tied for third in the high jump (1.43 meters), while Sarah Primak (So., Mifflintown, PA/Juniata) and Beth Randolph (So., St. Davids, PA/Episcopal Academy) tied for 11th in the pole vault with a height of 2.14 meters.

In the long jump, Haas, Benford and Haertel finished ninth (4.51 meters), 10th (4.49 meters) and 11th (4.46 meters) before Benford and Haertel returned to the infield to place sixth (9.86 meters) and seventh (9.40 meters) in the triple jump.

Benford concluded the meet by placing fifth in the shot put with a distance of 9.33 meters.
