COLLEGEVILLE, PA - The 4X200 meter relay team of Beth Randolph (Fr., St. Davids, PA/Episcopal Academy), Jeanette Finster (Jr., LaCanada, CA/Flintridge Prep), Brittney Dhein (Fr., Telford, PA/Pennridge) and Tara Cooney (Fr., Douglaston, NY/St. Francis) placed second in a time of 1:53.26 to reset the Franklin & Marshall College school record as the Diplomats competed at the Ursinus College Grizzly Track Invitational. The time erases the previous best of 1:54.36 established last season. In the sprints, Robyn Haertel (Fr., Millburn, NJ/Millburn) placed 13th in the 55 meters (7.96) and 8th in the 200 meters (28.88) to lead the team. Further, Dhein recorded a sixth place performance in the 200 (28.83), while Finster (1:02.16), Cooney (1:03.73) and Randolph (1:03.81) placed third through fifth in the 400 meter run. Further, the 4X400 meter relay team of Sam Pollinger (Jr., Mahwah, NJ/Northern Highlands), Cooney, Anne Bloomer (Fr., Ottumwa, IA/Ottumwa) and Jackie Bentley (Sr., Mercersburg, PA/James Buchanan) finished seventh in a time of 4:33.64. The distance squad also recorded a strong showing as Emily Hughes (Sr., Springfield, VT/Springfield) crossed the line in 12:10.11 to place ninth in the 3,000 meters, while Sarah Aronoff (So., Bethesda, MD/Bethesda Chevy Chase) placed sixth in the 5,000 meter run in 19:48.09. In the field events, Monique Lumsden (So., Brooklyn, NY/Nightingale-Bamford) placed 12th in the long jump (4.15 meters) and 10th in the triple jump (9.12 meters), while Benford finished fifth in the triple jump (9.55 meters) and sixth in the shot put (9.30 meters).
