LANCASTER, PA - Bryn Benford (So., Malvern, PA/Great Valley), Tara Cooney (Fr., Douglaston, NY/St. Francis) and the 4x400 meter relay team set new school records as the Franklin & Marshall College women's indoor track team hosted the Iannicelli Invitational at the Alumni Sports & Fitness Center. In the shot put, Benford recorded a distance of 34-8 1/4 to place second in the event and erase the previous school record of 33-1 set by Susanne Daly '02 during the 2001 season. In the 800 meters, Cooney crossed the line in 2:26.78 to eclipse the record of 2:27.11 set by Samantha Pollinger (Jr., Mahwah, NJ/Northern Highlands) last season. The F&M 4x400 meter relay shattered the previous mark set last season of 4:26.52 with a time of 4:19.62 Sarah Aronoff (So., Bethesda, MD/Bethesda Chevy Chase) finished tenth in the 3000 meters (11:31.54), Beth Randolph (Fr., St. Davids, PA/Episcopal Academy) placed fourth in the 200 meter dash (29.31), Anne Bloomer (Fr., Ottumwa, IA/Ottumwa) eighth in the 1,500 meters (5:30.72) and Emily Hughes (Sr., Springfield, VT/Springfield) third in the 5,000 meters (21:52.66) to highlight the Diplomats' track performances. In field events, Sarah Primak (Fr., Mifflintown, PA/Juniata) tied for third in the pole vault with a height of 8 feet, while Monique Lumsden (So., Brooklyn, NY/Nightingale-Bamford) placed second in the triple jump with a distance of 31-10.
