LANCASTER, PA -- Tara Cooney (Fr., Douglaston, NY/St. Francis) placed fifth in the 400 meters for the Diplomats' best finish of the day as the Franklin & Marshall College women's track & field team competed at the 25th Annual Millersville Metrics hosted on the campus of F&M at Williamson Field. The meet was hosted at Franklin & Marshall due to construction on Millersville's track caused by harsh winter weather. In the 400, Cooney crossed the line in 61.7 for fifth place, 1.4 seconds ahead of ninth place Sara Moser-Cohen (Fr., Fair Haven, NJ/Marine Academy of Science). Robyn Haertel (Fr., Millburn, NJ/Millburn) registered a performance of 32'-4" for eighth place in the triple jump and the Diplomats other top 10 performance of the meet. Kelly Witkowski (Sr., Colts Neck, NJ/Marlboro) finished 13th in the javelin (43'-11"), Jeannette Finster (Jr., LaCanada, CA/Flintridge) placed 11th (27.6) and Cooney 16th (28.0) in the 200 meters (27.6) to pace the Diplomats. Franklin & Marshall will continue the season at Gettysburg College for the Centennial Conference Championships on May 2-4.
