KUTZTOWN, PA -- Laura Lautenbacher (Fr., Langhorne, PA/Nazareth Academy) cleared 9-1 to place third and tie her own school record in the pole vault as the Franklin & Marshall College women's indoor track team competed at the Kutzown University Invitational. The performance was one of two top ten performances on the day for the freshman as she placed eighth in the 400 meters in a time of 1:12.26. Overall, the Diplomats added several other top ten finishes as Jeannette Finster (Sr., LaCanada, CA/Flintridge Preparatory) placed fourth in the 500 meters in a time of 1:28.91, while Tara Cooney (So., Douglaston, NY/St. Francis) was second in the 800 meters in 2:28.07. In the mile, Sam Pollinger (Sr., Mahwah, NJ/Northern Highlands) placed fourth in 5:51.92, while Yanira Figueroa (Sr., Mount Vernon, NY/Tuckahoe) crossed the line eighth in 6:07.90. Nikki Salenetri (Fr., Crosswicks, NJ/Northern Burlington) was third in the 1,000 meters (3:24.90) before Karen Ziga (Fr., Haverford, PA/Haverford) notched a second place performance in the 3,000 meters, just ahead of teammate Julia Schwartz (So., Fort Collins, CO/Poudre) who tallied an eighth place finish in 13:22.72. In the relays, Franklin & Marshall placed second in the 4X400 (4:20.86) and third in the 4X800 (11:07.40) to round out competition on the track. On the infield, F&M had a strong showing as Bryn Benford (Jr., Malvern, PA/Great Valley) placed second in the triple jump (33-10) and fifth in the 20-lb. weight throw (37-11). Libby Haas (Fr., Wrightsville, PA/Eastern) also had a strong showing as she placed fourth in the high jump (5-1) and seventh in the long jump (14-10), while Amanda Jaskowak (Fr., Grove City, PA/Grove City) finished ninth in the high jump (4-7) and Robyn Haertel (So., Millburn, NJ/Millburn) edged Haas to place sixth in the long jump (14-10).
