WESTMINSTER, MD – Libby Haas (Jr., Wrightsville, PA/Eastern York) cleared 5’-03.25” to win the high jump and earn All-Centennial Conference honors to lead the Diplomats on day three as the Franklin & Marshall College women’s outdoor track & field team finished eighth at the 2006 Centennial Conference Championships hosted by McDaniel College. The star of the meet for the Diplomats was Karen Ziga (Jr., Haverford, PA/Haverford) who placed sixth in the 5000 meters in a time of 18:32.79 on day three after finishing second in the 10,000 meters in a time of 39:10.62 on day one of the meet to account for 11 of her team’s 47.5 points. In the relays, the team of Pauline Kint (Fr., Chatham, NJ/Chatham), Haas, Erica Losito (Fr., Chatham, NJ/Chatham) and Brittney Dhein (Sr., Telford, PA/Pennridge) finished seventh in the 4X100 (53.22), while the squad of Dhein, Megan Hunter (Fr., Allentown, PA/Emmaus), Losito and Haas finished sixth in the 4X400 (4:16.53). In other finishes, Dhein placed eighth in the 200 meters in a time of 27.93, Alyssa Catalano (Fr., Selinsgrove, PA/Selinsgrove) finished sixth in the shot put with a toss of 35’-03.75” and Kristen Groleau (Jr., Lancaster, PA/Lancaster Catholic) finished sixth in the javelin with a throw of 106’-10”. Franklin & Marshall will continue the season at the Eastern College Athletic Conference Championships hosted by Springfield College on May 18. Team Scores
