COLLEGEVILLE, PA – Laura Lautenbacher (Jr., Langhorne, PA/Nazareth Academy) placed third in the pole vault with a height of 9’’0” for five points and Libby Haas (Jr., Wrightsville, PA/Eastern York) finished fourth in the high jump with a height of 4’-11.75” for four points as the Franklin & Marshall College women’s indoor track team finished fifth of nine teams at the Ursinus College Invitational. Overall, the Diplomats finished with 21 team points as Franklin & Marshall defeated Rowan University, Albright College, Bryn Mawr College and Gwynedd Mercy College. Kutztown University won the meet title, while St. Joseph’s University, Haverford College, Ursinus and the Diplomats rounded out the top five teams. In other top finishes, Julia Schwartz (Sr., Fort Collins, CO/Poudre) crossed the finish line in 21:43.32 to place 10th in the 5000 meters, Brittney Dhein (Sr., Telford, PA/Pennridge) finished ninth in the 55 meters (7.96) and seventh in the 200 meters (29.03) and Maggie Selzer (So., State College, PA/State College) placed 16th in the 400 meters in a time of 70.65. The Diplomats strongest showing came in the relays as the 4X200 team finished third in 1:56.39 for six points and the 4X400 squad placed fifth in 4:33.90 for six points. Franklin & Marshall will continue the season on January 27 at home in the Alumni Sports & Fitness Center Schnader Field House for the 2006 F&M Invitational. Team Results: 1.
