Aronoff Places 23rd to Lead Diplomats to Fourth Place at Ursinus Brian Dennis Memorial Meet

COLLEGEVILLE, PA - Sarah Aronoff (Jr., Bethesda, MD/Bethesda Chevy Chase) crossed the finish line in 13:45 to capture 23rd place as the Franklin & Marshall College women's cross country team finished fourth at the Ursinus College Brian Dennis Memorial 3K Meet.

The seventh Division III runner across the finish line, Aronoff led the team as the Diplomats finished ahead of Centennial Conference rival Swarthmore College.

Tammy Crudden (So., Collegeville, PA/Springford), Amy Toporowski (Jr., Montgomery, MA/Willston Northampton), Rebecca Dempsey (Jr., Lancaster, PA/Solanco), Julia Schwartz (So., Fort Collins, CO/Poudre) and Megan Feehan (So., West Chester, PA/Henderson) rounded out the Diplomats' top five finishers as Franklin & Marshall finished 14 points behind Ursinus for third place.

Named in honor of former Ursinus College athlete Brian Dennis who passed away from cancer, the meet is an early season matchup of local programs as Division I St. Joseph's and Division III Lebanon Valley, Franklin & Marshall, Swarthmore and Ursinus competed in the meet. St. Joe's claimed the meet title with 23 points.

Franklin & Marshall will continue the season on September 6 at the Bloomsburg University Invitational.
