Ziga Named to October 6 Centennial Conference Women's Cross Country Honor Roll

LANCASTER, PA - Franklin & Marshall College freshmen Karen Ziga (Fr., Haverford, PA/Haverford) placed 38th in the 6k race at the Dickinson College Invitational to earn a spot on the October 6 Centennial Conference Women's Cross Country Honor Roll. In the 6k, Ziga outsprinted Mary Washington's Joanna Long to finish in a time of 25:03.72, just ahead of teammate Meredith Janeczek (Fr., Hershey, PA/Hershey) who placed 49th in 25:27.54, while Sarah Aronoff (Jr., Bethesda, MD/Bethesda Chevy Chase) placed 84th in 26:18.88 to lead the team. In the short course 4k race, Crudden finished in 16:52.36, Yanira Figueroa (Sr., Mount Vernon, NY/Tuckahoe) placed 70th in 17:10.26 and Amy Toporowski (Jr., Montgomery, MA/Willison Northampton) finished 76th in 17:14.46, five spots ahead of Meg Laufman (Fr., Pittsburgh, PA/Oakland Catholic) in 17:17.73. Margaret van Bakergem (Fr., St. Louis, MO/Crossroads) rounded out the Diplomats' top five with a 134th place finish in 18:10.79. Franklin & Marshall will continue the season on October 18 at the DeSales University Invitational in Center Valley, Pennsylvania. Race time is set for 10:30 a.m.
