Franklin & Marshall Finishes Eighth at Allegheny College Women's Cross Country Invitational

ALLEGHENY, PA -- Meredith Janeczek (So., Hershey, PA/Hershey) finished 14th in 23:15 over the 6,000 meter course to lead the Franklin & Marshall College women’s cross country team to an eighth place finish at the Allegheny College Invitational.

Overall, the Diplomats defeated Penn State-Behrend, Ohio Wesleyan, Waynesburg, Marywood, Susquehanna, Goucher, Scranton, Frostburg State, McDaniel, Washington & Jefferson, Hiram, Westminster and Thiel as Franklin & Marshall will return to Allegheny later in the season for the NCAA Mid-East Regional.

Karen Ziga (So., Haverford, PA/Haverford), Yanira Figueroa (Sr., Mount Vernon, NY/Tuckahoe), Meghan Feehan (Jr., West Chester, PA/Henderson) and Colette Buchanan (Fr., Hershey, PA/Hershey) placed 35th (24:11), 50th (24:55), 63rd (25:22) and 79th (25:56) to round out the Diplomats top five runners.

Dickinson College won the invitational behind a first place performance from Emily Hulme (22:17), while Allegheny, Denison, Moravian, Elizabethtown, Kenyon and Oberlin rounded out the top seven teams.
