Buchanan & Janeczek Lead Diplomats at Dickinson College Women's Cross Country Invitational

CARLISLE, PA --The Franklin & Marshall College women’s cross country team finished eleventh in the 4k and fifth in the 6k races to place sixth overall at the Dickinson College Invitational.

In the 4,000 meter run, Colette Buchanan (Fr., Hershey, PA/Hershey) led the way for the Diplomats as she crossed the line in 16:29.57 for 30th place.

Individually, Tara Barlow from DeSales finished first in a time of 14:41.69 while Ithaca College finished first in the race with 18 total points. Franklin & Marshall finished 11th with 118 points.

In the 6,000 meter run, Meredith Janeczek (So., Hershey, PA/Hershey) crossed the finish line in sixth place in a time of 23:37.93 to finish 50 seconds off the winning time of Emily Hulme of Dickinson College (22:47.96). Karen Ziga (So., Haverford, PA/Haverford) and Yanira Figueroa (Sr., Mount Vernon, NY/Tuckahoe) finished 24th and 25th, respectively.

Franklin & Marshall College will return to action on October 9th at the Goucher College Invitational.
